Tanzania Visa & Entry Information
Visas, passports and arrival formalities for travellers to Tanzania.
Most nationalities require a visa. The simplest route is the government e-visa, applied for online at least three weeks before travel; a single-entry tourist visa currently costs USD 50, or USD 100 for United States passport holders.
Visas on arrival are available at Kilimanjaro and Julius Nyerere international airports, though queues can be long after a late flight.
Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry and have two blank pages.
A yellow fever certificate is required only if you are arriving from, or have transited through, a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. This information is a guide only — always confirm with your nearest Tanzanian embassy.
