Before You Fly

Health & Safety on Safari

Vaccinations, malaria precautions, insurance and safety in the parks.

Speak to a travel clinic six to eight weeks before departure. Commonly recommended vaccinations include hepatitis A, typhoid, tetanus and, for some itineraries, rabies.

Malaria prophylaxis is advised for all safari areas. Combine it with repellent, long sleeves at dusk and the mosquito nets provided at camp.

Comprehensive travel insurance including medical evacuation is a condition of travel with us. Flying Doctors evacuation cover within Tanzania is included in every safari at no extra charge.

In the parks, the rules are simple: stay in the vehicle unless your guide says otherwise, keep tent zips closed at night, and never walk between tents after dark without an escort.
